To the desert and beyond! Our engaging camps will explore the Sonoran Desert region’s diverse land, sea, animals, and plants. Campers will explore every nook and cranny of the Museum as they use science to make their own desert discoveries, observe live animals up close, create art, and chill out in our Packrat Playhouse.

Join us at the Desert Museum October 13-19, 2024, to celebrate Earth Science Week with giveaways, expert interpretation, and a fun scavenger hunt for the kids! Our Earth Scientists Penny and Anna will be available 9:00-11:00 a.m. each day throughout the week. Don't forget to play in the Caves!

Coati Kids Club members meet for a fun event that includes on-grounds exploration, classroom animal encounters, crafts, and more.

Girl Scouts and accompanying adults explore the grounds and complete activities to earn their naturalist badges. Registration is through the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona.

Just in geologic time: Mineral Madness turns thirty-one! You're invited to dig into the rockin' world of minerals on Saturday and Sunday, January 18 and 19 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day to celebrate the thirty first anniversary of this popular event. Shop for your own mineral and fossil treasures at rock-bottom prices and enjoy hands-on activities for all ages!
